How It All Started…
Modern Pop is a Pandemic Baby if there ever was one! During a season that was grey with social distance, uncertainty, and sorrow, people were still persevering and celebrating. Families and friends still found ways to have their baby showers, graduations, and weddings, many of them virtually! And it gave the rest of us, wherever we were, a feeling of joy and a sense of community to see someone in a completely different state or country celebrating a life event.
Décor became more important than ever as we used it to channel a sense of normalcy and lift our own as well as others’ spirits during the unknown and unfamiliar territory of COVID.
Balloon installations (along with other types of décor) kept events memorable, meaningful, and fun! Modern Pop is just a small way to contribute to these special moments and memories by adding pops of color and balloons. Knowing that Tulsa is filled with amazing creatives and an incredible community, we decided that we could say yes to balloons and take the bold step to launch into the balloon business!

If you are looking for a way make your event POP, this is IT!! Modern Pop did our wedding with the instructions of “do what you do best” and man they showed out!! It was better than we could have hoped for, and really tied our entire wedding together!! Great down to earth people, with an eye for decor! Adding balloons to your event, isn’t just something that kids do. Modern Pop brings balloons into a classy adult atmosphere and makes the night one to remember!!

Meet Lead Balloon Designer & Owner Carina
She is the cozy queen. A true homebody and the exact opposite of what you might think a balloon party biz owner would be! Carina, when not working on all things Modern Pop, can be found snuggled up next to her husband Drake enjoying dessert (most likely ice cream) and watching the latest hit Netflix series. Roscato, sushi, and spontaneous adventures are a few of her favorite things. After getting married in January 2020 at the beginning of a pandemic, her desire to spark joy through celebration grew into Modern Pop.
